The person behind the work

Same curiosity.
Different adventures.

From building systems to making memories.
Keep scrolling. The panels follow you. ↓

01 / At work

Built on curiosity.

I build payment systems for merchants and small businesses, bringing ownership, reliability, and clear communication to the work.

  • Systems design & reliability
  • Performance & observability
  • Technical leadership & mentorship
02 / Fatherhood

The everyday adventure.

Building small moments, stories, and routines that matter.

03 / Hiking

Take the scenic route.

Trail time, fresh perspective, and a little distance from the screen.

04 / Camping

A different kind of glow.

A campfire, a quiet night, and nowhere else to be.

05 / Boating

Find a slower current.

Time on the water. My favorite change of pace.

06 / Sports

Always a Detroit fan.

Year-round conversation. Win or lose, I’m in.

07 / Board games

One more round.

Friendly competition, co-op strategy, and a good tabletop night.

The origin story

It started with
“what if?”

At 12, I was building MySpace layouts.
I never really stopped building.
Five chapters. One persistent curiosity. ↓

01 / 2008 - 2016

MySpace + FIRST Robotics

Started with MySpace layouts and fusionlayouts.com, then programmed robots in FIRST and later mentored students on weekends.

02 / 2014 - 2021

CMU, Ford, and Leadership Growth

Completed CS at CMU (minors in IT and Math), joined Ford, and grew into an anchor software engineering lead role.

03 / 2019 - 2021

M.S. + Nerd Nibble

Finished an M.S. in Software Engineering at University of Michigan - Dearborn while building Nerd Nibble.

04 / 2021 - 2022

Indeed — Software Engineer II

Worked on identity and authentication services across the Indeed platform.

05 / 2022 - Present

Shopify — Senior Software Engineer

Built and scaled money-critical payments systems while continuing side projects that support small businesses.

A few chapters outside work

I got engaged at the Trevi Fountain in Rome and married in Mt. Rainier National Park. Along the way: two homes in Michigan, an M.S. at the University of Michigan–Dearborn, and several years building Nerd Nibble.
